The Florida High Tech Corridor Council recently announced the new release of the Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center (http://www.flvec.com/). FLVEC.com is designed to provide a single source of local, statewide, and national resources to assist Florida entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. The resources are organized to place emphasis on convenient, local commercial and public sources of assistance. NetWise Technology, a leading provider of web-based enterprise software, has been responsible for the delivery, hosting, and maintenance of the FLVEC since it's inception. The site is built on top of NetWise's ClientSpace workflow architecture.

The new site was unveiled in June and has immediately more than tripled daily traffic and usage on the site. The new interface was designed by a consortium of partners from Daytona State College, the Disney Entrepreneur Center, the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, regional EDO and academic partners, and NetWise Technology.

"The FLVEC has evolved over the last three years as new partners have been introduced to and incorporated into the portal. This latest release is the result of a Corridor-wide collaborative design effort that began in February and was completed in June," said Randy Berridge, President of the Florida High Tech Corridor Council. "Initial feedback and results have been extremely positive and are indicative of the high level of achievement The Corridor can accomplish when we work together."

"This project has grown beyond my original expectations and the momentum is strong for continued expansion of the FLVEC," said Dr. Bob Williams, Daytona State College. "When we began this journey four years ago, we were fortunate to find a great technology partner. We have been able to count on NetWise to deliver on the great ideas brought forth by the design team." The idea for a web-searchable and community driven database of online resources focused on the needs of entrepreneurs, was conceived by Dr. Williams and his economic development team at Daytona State.

"The enhanced FLVEC.com site is one of the most user friendly websites we have worked on. The design team did a great job coming up with ideas and approaches to improve the interface; delivering it was the easy part," said Randy Wadle, CEO of NetWise Technology. "FLVEC.com is built using the ClientSpace workflow management architecture so building the underlying database and administrative functionality is easy. The new interface will significantly improve the user experience."
